Gordon Dunn

Biography

Gordon Dunn is a multi award-winning guitarist who has performed across Europe and at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in the UK including, the Royal Academy of Music, Bolivar Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Henley Festival and Wells Town Hall as a recitalist and concerto soloist (Concierto de Aranjuez). In 1999, he was a finalist in the Admira Young Classical Guitarist of the Year and for the past 3 years has adjudicated the Takemine Young Acoustic Guitarist of the Year.

Gordon has studied with and has been an active part in masterclasses with many of the world’s greatest musicians and guitarists including Gary Ryan, Mark Ashford, Craig Ogden, Simon Dinnigan, Tom Kerstens, David Russell, Roberto Aussel, Leo Brouwer, Manuel Barrueco, David Tanembaum, Sergio and Odair Assad, Roland Dyens and James Woodrow.

He has worked with composers such as Damon Soards, David Hunt and Howard Skempton (UK), Leo Brouwer (Cuba), Stuart Mclean (Canada), Tom Johnson and Richard Boulanger (USA), and Oliver Thedieck (Germany) in the realisation of their works and was specially selected to premiere new music in Holland by British and Dutch composers before becoming a Master of Music (performance) at the Birmingham Conservatoire.
